In just two years since its inception, A Vision of Health has had a significant effect on community health and breast cancer prevention through numerous programs, and its partnership with the Department of Health Sciences, Program of Public Health at California State University, Northridge.   Starting in 2012, AVOH began collecting data on the efficacy of preventative educational, nutritional, and lifestyle programs in the fight against breast cancer. From February to May, 2013, AVOH and CSUN conducted the first Breast Cancer Prevention Program for a cohort of 30 women in a series of classes and activities focused on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle, and self-examination. The program was conducted at the Mission Hills Community Hospital Diabetic Kitchen. Since 2012, along with Inner Images, AVOH has been sponsoring mammography screening/lifestyle education events for under and un-insured women, at locations such as the Los Angeles Headquarters of the Screen Actors' Guild, The Grove, SoRo Community Festival and Bristol Farms Since 2012, as a University preceptor, AVOH has hosted internships for induction of young professionals into the field of breast health and women’s wellness. In 2014 AVOH received pending recognition from the  CDC to deliver the diabetes prevention program.. In July 2015 AVOH completed our first New Leaf program in Panorama City. in August 2015 AVOH contracted with the City of South Gate Parks and Recreation Center to provide an ongoing New Leaf program to the residents of South Gate.
